Ask Your Pharmacist Week

A couple of months ago it was ‘Ask Your Pharmacist’ week here in Australia. It occurred with little fanfare, but a nice sentiment nonetheless I suppose. Interesting to note that, as would be expected, Health Minister Nicola Roxon was the government’s representative on this campaign, though this comes at a somewhat tense time between the profession and the government, particularly Ms. Roxon.
I am referring of course to the proposed changes to the PBS for oncology drugs. For those who are not aware, this mainly will effect in-hospital use of chemotherapy type medication, and I will expand on this on a future post.
Did your pharmacy do anything ’special’ for Ask Your Pharmacist week? More importantly, was your pharmacy even aware of this?

Ask you who what now? Yeah, no one in my pharmacy knows about it. Did they even have commercials or anything? Seems pointless if you’re not even going to advertise it. Whole point is for the public right, its a problem if the pharmacists don’t even know
